How Arcus Built With USDG on Robinhood Chain, and What It Took to Make That Possible

New chains are a blank slate. There’s no inherited infrastructure, no legacy integrations to work around. Every architectural decision gets made deliberately — including which stablecoin the exchange runs on and how that stablecoin actually functions inside the platform.

Robinhood Chain launched on July 1 with USDG as its native stablecoin. Arcus, a leading equities and perpetuals DEX, is the first major exchange on the chain. They built it with USDG at the center of every market: stock tokens, perpetuals, collateral, settlement, all in USDG.

On a self-custodial, on-chain exchange, the settlement currency is the architecture. It runs through deposits, collateral, margin, funding, and redemption. For USDG to be native to Arcus rather than just native to the chain underneath it, the integration had to be built at the platform layer.

Paxos Labs built that access layer between Arcus and the Paxos ecosystem, enabling USDG on Robinhood Chain for exchanges, protocols, and fintechs that want it to work natively inside their products. When an Arcus trader deposits from anywhere and lands in USDG, that’s Paxos Labs Transit doing the work.

"Our goal at Arcus is to make trading feel effortless. Users shouldn't have to think about stablecoins, routing, or currency conversions - they should just be able to trade. By building on Transit from Paxos Labs, we can handle those complexities behind the scenes, with USDG serving as the settlement layer that makes the experience seamless.

— Eddie Zhang, Founder, CEO, Arcus

Arcus also used the launch window to activate its treasury. Through Paxos Labs’ Amplify Earn, Arcus allocated part of its treasury before going live, putting capital to work on-chain rather than leaving it idle. Access layer and activation layer, both solved before the first user arrived.

“Every exchange that supports multiple stablecoins has a routing problem. Assets arrive in different forms and have to be unified for trading. Arcus solved that at the architecture level by making USDG the foundational asset. Transit handles the conversion and routing automatically with predictable rates so that whatever a trader on Arcus starts with, they land in USDG.”

For exchanges and protocols building on Robinhood Chain, Paxos Labs is the integration layer for USDG.
